Payout statements

Every payout has a statement: remittance advice that says who paid whom, how, and for what. Keep it for your accounts, or send it to the partner. Partners can open the statements for their own payouts in the partner portal.

Opening a statement

Payouts in the sidebar. Every row has View in its Statement column, both in the list of all payouts and in one partner’s payout history. The statement opens in a new tab. To keep a PDF, print it and choose Save as PDF.

A statement is built from the payout’s records each time you open it, so it always matches them. You can open it again at any time.

What it shows

  • Your business: your legal name and address (see Settings below), and on hosted OpenPartner the GSTIN from your billing details.
  • The partner: name, email, and where the payout went. Payout details are always masked: a statement never shows a full account number, email or UPI ID.
  • The payout: statement number, payout ID, status, and how it was sent (Stripe, or paid by you through a PayPal or Wise file, bank transfer, UPI or other). Where there is one, the reference that identifies it: the Stripe transfer, or the reference it carried in your PayPal or Wise file.
  • Line items: each commission (the date it was earned, the program, the event it was earned on, the amount), each bonus, and each refund deduction taken off the payout.
  • Totals per currency: commissions, bonuses, refund deductions, net, and the amount paid. Different currencies are never added together.

A payout you haven’t marked sent yet says so, and so does one that failed.

Tax

A payout statement records a payment. It is not a tax invoice, and OpenPartner doesn’t calculate, deduct or report tax. Whether you need a tax invoice for these payments, or tax deducted at source shown on them, depends on where you and your partners are. Ask your accountant before you rely on a statement for tax. If they need something the statement doesn’t show, tell us.

From the API

GET /payouts/{id}/statement returns the statement as a page, or as data with ?format=json, for showing statements in your own app or filing them in your accounts. It takes an admin key or a key with the payouts:read scope. The payout.created webhook includes the statement’s address as statementUrl. See the API reference.
