White-label affiliate portal: your partner portal on your own domain

For $49 a month on top of Revshare or Flex, your affiliate and partner portal runs on a subdomain you own with your brand only. Sign-in links, invites, your join page and email all come from you, and your program stays off the shared marketplace. What it does, how setup works, and the trade-offs.

Most partners never think about which software runs the program they promote. Some programs need them not to. If your partners are your own customers, your resellers, or agencies that put your name in front of their clients, a portal at app.openpartner.dev is one more brand they have to understand and trust. An invite email from a company they’ve never heard of looks like phishing, however legitimate it is.

The white-label add-on puts the whole partner portal on your own domain, like partners.yourbrand.com, with your branding only. It’s been available since July, and this post covers what it does, how setup works, and what you give up.

What partners see

With white-label on and your domain verified:

  • The portal is on your domain. Sign-in, links, earnings, payouts and resources all live at partners.yourbrand.com, with a certificate we provision and renew for you.
  • Your brand, nobody else’s. Your name, logo, favicon and accent color, and no OpenPartner name or logo in the portal. If you haven’t uploaded a logo, partners see a neutral monogram of your brand name, never ours.
  • Links in email point to your domain. Sign-in links, invites and your public application page at partners.yourbrand.com/join.
  • Email from your own address, once you connect your mail provider (below).
  • Tracking can run on your domain too. Point the SDK and the script tag at partners.yourbrand.com, and nothing in your site’s network traffic names us either.

How setup works

It’s a step-by-step page under White label in your dashboard. Budget an afternoon, most of it waiting for DNS.

  1. Turn on the add-on. Already subscribed? It’s added to your plan as a prorated line item, with no new checkout. Not subscribed yet? One checkout covers your plan and the add-on.
  2. Connect a subdomain you own. Enter partners.yourbrand.com (or similar) and add the two DNS records you’re given: a CNAME that points it at us and a TXT record that proves you own it. Click Verify once they’ve propagated. The certificate follows automatically, and the domain is usually live within about 15 minutes.
  3. Brand the portal. Name, logo, favicon and accent color, under Settings → Brand info.
  4. Send email from your own address. Under Settings → Email delivery, connect your SMTP mailbox (or Postmark) and send a test email. Your existing SPF and DKIM records apply, so there’s nothing to set up on our side. Until you do this, email goes out through our shared sender, so connect it before you invite partners.
  5. Decide who can join. Under Settings → Partner signups, open your /join page to anyone or keep it invite-only, and approve applicants automatically or hold them for review.
  6. Test, then invite. Run one test partner through a click, a signup and a commission. Check the sign-in email arrives from your address and links to your domain.

The white-label setup guide has every step in detail.

What you give up

White-label is a deliberate trade, and you should know the other side of it before you turn it on:

  • No marketplace. A white-label program is kept off the shared OpenPartner Network: it isn’t listed, creators can’t discover or apply to it, and the Network pages are hidden from your dashboard. Any listings you had are withdrawn when you turn the add-on on. If creator recruitment through the marketplace matters to you, white-label works against it.
  • A subdomain, not your root domain. partners.yourbrand.com works; yourbrand.com doesn’t.
  • The TXT record stays. It’s re-checked daily. Remove it and the domain is turned off until you verify again. That’s what stops anyone else serving your partners from a domain you’ve let lapse.
  • Sign-ins are per domain. Signing in at partners.yourbrand.com doesn’t sign you in at app.openpartner.dev. Your team can still use either; your partners only ever see yours.

What it costs

$49 a month, on top of Revshare or Flex, billed with your plan. Turning it on mid-month is prorated, and turning it off credits the rest of the month. Enterprise contracts can include it. See pricing.

If you turn it off, or your subscription lapses, the portal goes back to OpenPartner branding and your custom domain stops working. Your domain registration and history are kept, so turning it back on means re-verifying, not starting over.
